On March 27, 2025, severe storms caused heavy flooding across northeastern Mexico and the Rio Grande Valley, impacting many of our Fresenius Medical Care employees. In Reynosa, Tamaulipas, over 700 of our 3,500 team members suffered damage to their homes, vehicles, and belongings. In South Texas, extreme rainfall led to similar challenges, with flooded roads and homes impacting 50 colleagues.
Among those affected was Alma Saldivar, Payroll Supervisor. Her home and vehicle suffered significant damage, and like many in her community, she faced the daunting task of recovery.
In her time of need, Alma turned to the CARES Fund—Fresenius Medical Care’s global employee hardship fund—available to employees around the world, when they need it. The financial assistance she received was instrumental in helping her repair the damage and regain stability.
“I would like to express my gratitude for the help you provided me during the storm,” Alma shared. “The financial support was essential in dealing with the disasters caused by the storm. With the assistance the CARES Fund provided, I was able to repair the damage to my home and vehicle.”
Alma’s heartfelt message reflects the spirit of solidarity and compassion that defines the CARES Fund. “I feel fortunate to belong to the great Fresenius Medical Care family,” she said. “This support was fundamental in my life.”
Her story is a powerful reminder of how the CARES Fund continues to make a meaningful difference in the lives of employees facing unexpected hardship—offering not just financial relief, but hope and reassurance in difficult times.
