Supportive underlying drivers within a growing chronic kidney disease market

People on dialysis globally projected to grow 90% from 3.7 million in 2020 to ~7 million by 2035 driven by aging populations and rising prevalence of diabetes and hypertension.

Advancements in pharmaceuticals as well as new technologies will enable dialysis patients to live longer, healthier lives.

FME Reignite strategy: We lead kidney care through exceptional patient care and innovation

Launched in 2025, FME Reignite marks the start of a new chapter for Fresenius Medical Care focused on accelerated innovation and growth, following a period of transformation in recent years.

Our DNA is advancing kidney care.

FME Reignite is founded on three strategic priorities:

    • Reignite the core: Strengthen core operations
    • Reignite growth and innovation: Drive profitable growth and innovation
    • Reignite our culture: Develop together and strengthen our culture

Watch what we are doing to take Fresenius Medical Care to the next level.

A powerful example of how FME Reignite comes to life is the introduction of high-volume HDF (HVHDF) and the roll-out of the new 5008X CAREsystem in FME U.S clinics. This represents the biggest replacement and upgrade in the history of Fresenius Medical Care as it transforms the standard of care in the U.S.

HVHDF treatments are proven to improve mortality and quality of life for patients. In addition to being the only dialysis machine offering U.S. patients the opportunity to experience the globally established clinical benefits of HVHDF, the 5008X CAREsystem will also bring siginificant benefits and efficiencies to clinic operations.

Improved mortality rates following HVHDF penetration

      • Survival benefits in CONVINCE emerge after 3 months
      • 4.4% fewer deaths over 2.5 years of therapy with HVHDF, reflecting a 23% lower risk of mortality over the CONVINCE study period

Clear path to industry leading profitability and shareholder value creation

With the launch of FME Reignite and a new capital allocation framework, Fresenius Medical Care has a clear ambition to improve profitability, aspiring to achieve an industry-leading mid-teens operating income margin by 2030, and has a strong track record in delivering on targets.
