kinexus HHD

A remote therapy management platform for NxStage home hemodialysis (HHD) systems

kinexus HHD enables two-way data exchange between the patient at home and their clinic

The patient’s treatment information is sent automatically from the cycler to the app. Patients may include additional information manually. This information is sent from the app to the portal in the clinic.

The clinic is able to review the treatment information, adjust and send prescriptions to the patient remotely.

Treatment information is collected in a mobile application by the patient

kinexus HHD is designed to make documentation by the patient easier and less time-consuming.

Data collected in the kinexus HHD app can include:

Treatment information
(cycler data is automatically sent to the app)

Vitals
(weight, blood pressure, temperature)

Medications taken

Notes and photos

Note: The kinexus HHD patient app does not control the NxStage HHD cycler.

Staff can manage patient treatment information via the kinexus HHD portal at the clinic*

The portal provides the following insights and functionalities:

  • Overview of patients and their treatments
  • Current and historical trends of each patient
  • Vitals and treatment information after each session
  • Creating, adapting, and sending HHD prescriptions for patient reference**
  • Generating and exporting patient information reports

Treatment records are accessible 24 / 7.

* From anywhere as long as they have access to the internet /a web browser
** Prescriptions are displayed as reference only, the kinexus HHD patient app (Nx2Me) does not control the NxStage cycler

Potential key factors that contribute to enhanced therapy retention

Adherence
Clinicians may monitor and support treatment adherence.

Identification of deviations
Notifications in the portal when key clinical parameters deviate from preestablished norms may help support patient case management.

Early Intervention
Clinicians may identify health problems before unscheduled care is needed (blood, arterial, or venous pressures running too high).
