Fresenius Medical Care welcomes the United States Department of Health and Human Services' release of the Kidney Care National Plan and its focus on addressing the significant impact of kidney disease on patients and the nation's healthcare system. The Department's focus on incentivizing innovation, increasing access to home dialysis, simplifying the path to transplant, and advancing earlier intervention to slow the progression of kidney disease aligns closely with Fresenius Medical Care's mission to create a future worth living for patients worldwide, every day.
Many of the goals and priorities outlined in the plan reflect areas where we are already investing and driving progress, including introducing innovations such as hemodiafiltration (HDF) to the U.S., a Referral Ready program that helps streamline the transplant referral process, and continued efforts to expand access to home dialysis and other patient-centered care options. Kidney disease requires solutions across the full continuum of care, from prevention and education to advanced treatment options at home and in-center dialysis, and transplantation.
We look forward to continuing to work with HHS and other stakeholders to advance these shared priorities and improve outcomes for people living with kidney disease.
