International Nurses Day 2025

Proud To Be A Nurse: Celebrating the Collective Power of Our Nurses and Care Teams

To mark National Nurses Week (May 6–12) in the U.S. and International Nurses Day (May 12), we want to celebrate our nurses and care teams around the world, who are at the heart of our patient care.

Fresenius Medical Care’s (FME) nurses and care teams are dedicated to ensuring that every patient receives not only the best medical care but also the help, respect, and support they need to thrive. Whether administering life-saving dialysis, guiding patients through their treatment journey, or offering words of comfort during moments of need, the impact our nurses have is both profound and lasting.

Nurses are among the most trusted professionals – a reflection of the deep relationships they build and the unwavering commitment they bring to every interaction. At FME, we know that exceptional care is only possible because of the collective power of our nurses and care teams. Our campaign theme this year, “Proud To Be A Nurse,” recognizes the deep sense of pride they carry – not just in what they do, but in who they are.

Our nurses and care teams are so critical to us and so special to our patients. I can’t say enough about how wonderful they are. When we stand together in our purpose, we provide more than healthcare – we transform lives and create a future worth living.

Chief Executive Officer

Our commitment to supporting nurses and care teams

Nurses are caregivers, advocates, problem-solvers, and a source of strength for patients and families. Every skill mastered, every challenge overcome, and every life touched is a testament to their dedication and the pride they take in their profession. We honor their work by amplifying their voices, sharing their stories, and celebrating their contribution to transforming lives.

I chose nursing as a profession to bring a positive impact to the lives of others. It's my passion to render the service and give care for the patients while facing the most challenging conditions of their lives.

Frederick Dadulla

Staff Nurse from the Philippines

With a significant part of our workforce dedicated to patient care, FME remains committed to supporting and investing in our nurses and care teams. Through educational initiatives like the Advanced Renal Education Program (AREP), Global Medical Education Webinars, The University platform, and NephroCare Academy, we empower our nurses to grow, lead, and continue delivering world-class care.

Patient safety and quality are two passions of mine. I’m given the opportunity to shine at FME because their goals are in sync with mine.

To our nurses and care teams around the world: thank you. Your compassion, expertise, and commitment shape a better future for our patients every day. We are proud of you. We are proud to celebrate you.

Happy National Nurses Week and International Nurses Day.
